OralsBridge

Terms of use and sale.

Passes are not on sale yet. Where part of this page only applies once they are, it says so.

Last updated 2 November 2026.

Who we are

OralsBridge is a trading name of The Visionary Platform Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number17198186, registered office [registered office address]. Email [contact email]. In these terms "we" and "us" means The Visionary Platform Ltd, and "you" means the person using OralsBridge.

These terms

These terms apply when you use this website (oralsbridge.com) and the OralsBridge simulator, and when you buy a pass. Please read them with the privacy notice, thecookies and storage notice and the cancellation and refund policy, which form part of them. By using OralsBridge you accept these terms. If you do not, please do not use it.

What OralsBridge is, and is not

OralsBridge is a training aid for deck officer candidates preparing for their oral examinations: a simulated bridge in your browser, narrated lessons, and oral questions with the key points of a good answer.

  • Training aid only. Not an approved course. Not for navigation.
  • It has no approval, certification or accreditation from the Maritime and Coastguard Agency or any other authority, and it does not replace any course, module, sea time or examination your certificate requires.
  • We do not promise that you will pass any examination. How you prepare, and what you are asked on the day, are outside our control.
  • The simulator, its charts, tides, weather and ships are simplified and partly invented for training. Never use them to navigate. At sea, follow the regulations, your company's safety management system and the master's orders.
  • We take care that lessons and answers are accurate and cite their sources, but rules and guidance change. Where it matters, check the current official text.

Free content

The oral questions on this website, their key points, and the free lesson can be used without a pass or an account. We may change or withdraw free content at any time.

Passes

  • A pass gives one person access to every lesson, practice run and oral practice feature in the simulator for a set number of days: 7, 30, 60 or 90.
  • It is paid for once. It does not renew and you will not be charged again unless you buy another pass.
  • It starts when you buy it if you ask for immediate access at checkout, or otherwise when your cancellation period ends (see the refund policy). It ends at the same time of day after the number of days stated.
  • It is for you alone. You may not share your sign-in, or sell or pass on your pass. We may limit use to one device at a time.
  • The simulator runs best on a laptop or desktop computer with a recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari. Try the free lesson first to check it runs on yours.

Buying a pass

This section applies once passes go on sale.

  • Prices are shown in full, including any tax, before you pay. There are no extra charges added at checkout.
  • Payment is taken by our payment provider, which sells the pass to you as an authorised reseller (the "seller of record") and handles tax, invoices and refunds. Its buyer terms, shown at checkout, also apply to the payment. Our terms apply to your use of OralsBridge.
  • The contract is made when the payment provider confirms your order by email. That email confirms what you bought, its price, when it starts, and your cancellation rights.
  • If a price on the site is clearly wrong, we may cancel the order and refund you in full before access starts.

Age

You must be 18 or over to buy a pass. If you are 16 or 17, a parent or guardian must agree to the purchase. Colleges and training providers buying for students under 18 are responsible for that agreement. OralsBridge is not for children under 16.

Using OralsBridge fairly

You must not:

  • copy, scrape, download in bulk or republish the lessons, questions, answers, narration, videos or images, or use them to build another product or train an AI model;
  • share your sign-in or pass, or get round the limits on a pass;
  • copy, decompile or reverse engineer the simulator, except as far as the law allows you to;
  • try to break, overload or get unauthorised access to any part of OralsBridge, or send it anything harmful;
  • use the AI feedback for anything other than your own oral practice, or type into it other people's personal information or anything unlawful or offensive;
  • share details of a real examination, or the examiner, in breach of your examining authority's rules (for example the MCA's guidance on the oral examination).

If you break these rules seriously or repeatedly, we may suspend or end your access. If we end a pass because you broke them, we will tell you why, and we do not have to refund it. If we end it for any other reason, we will refund the unused part.

Our content

The simulator, lessons, questions and answers, narration, videos, images and this website belong to us or the people who license them to us. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them for your own study while you have access. You may quote a question or short passage with a link back to the page it came from. Chart data from official sources is used under its own terms, which the simulator shows you.

OralsBridge is independent. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any examining authority, classification society or equipment maker. Names of regulations, authorities and equipment are used only to describe what a lesson covers.

AI feedback

The simulator can give AI feedback on answers you type. The feedback is written by an AI model, can be wrong, and is practice only: it never says pass or fail and is not the view of an examiner. Check it against the key points and your own study. What is sent and kept is set out in the privacy notice. The feature is optional, and you can always mark your own answers instead.

Changes and availability

We keep improving OralsBridge: we may add, correct, reorder or remove lessons and features. While you have a pass we will not remove anything that significantly reduces what you paid for. If we must, we will tell you and you may end your pass for a refund of the unused part.

We aim to keep OralsBridge available, but it may sometimes be unavailable for maintenance or for reasons outside our control. If you lose a significant part of a pass because of a problem on our side, tell us and we will extend it or refund the time lost.

We may change these terms, for example when the law or OralsBridge changes. The version that applies to a pass is the one in force when you bought it, unless a change is required by law or is to your benefit.

Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. Loss is foreseeable if it is obvious it will happen or both of us knew it might happen when the contract was made.

OralsBridge is for your own study, not for business use. We are not responsible to you for loss of income, business or opportunity. Because it is a training aid and not for navigation, we are not responsible for decisions you make at sea, or for examination results.

We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breach of your legal rights as a consumer.

Your legal rights

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 if digital content is faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose. Advice about your rights is available from Citizens Advice, or from the consumer protection body where you live.

Complaints

If something has gone wrong, email [contact email] with what happened and what you would like us to do. We acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and aim to resolve them within 30 days. We do not currently use an alternative dispute resolution scheme. Complaints about personal information are covered in theprivacy notice.

Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring them in your own courts. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live, and may bring proceedings there where that law allows.

Other terms

  • If a court decides part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later.
  • We may transfer our rights and duties under these terms to another organisation, and will tell you if we do. Your rights will not be reduced.
  • Only you and we have rights under these terms. Nobody else can enforce them.
